Just the Delivery Guy

Microdrama pilot staged with MetaHumans in Unreal Engine

Jack delivers cakes for a local bakery. Today's order is a first-birthday cake, and the woman who opens the door is Claire, the mother of the daughter they lost. Two people who once shared everything try to get through a two-minute delivery without falling apart, while her new husband waits just inside. It ends on what she writes on the signature line.

Both leads were designed as MetaHumans, and the porch, the house and the street were built as one Unreal Engine set. Blocking, eyelines and camera coverage were animated there before anything was generated.

Each shot was then rendered in Seedance 2.5 from the Unreal animation using a technique I call Depth Ghost: the actors become soft gray depth silhouettes over the full-color set, so the model takes staging, timing and eyelines from Unreal, while faces and performances come from the character references.

The scene lives on restraint: a polite smile held a beat too long, a goodbye said to someone's back, and eyes that close only where she can't see them.

The full production breakdown is on the workflow page.
